
I was one day late making my credit card payment and got hit with the “penalty” APR of 29 percent. I’ve had this card for over 10 years and when I called to see if they could lower the rate, they said no. Are there any tactics I can use to get the interes

If this were within the first year you had the card, you would have been given 60 days before your rate could be raised, but you have been a good customer for 10 years. So you should call the company again and ask for a supervisor and/or write a letter to the person in charge of customer service to ask for a return to your prior interest rate. You should seek out another credit card and try to transfer your balance to another card with a better rate.
