If this were within the first year you had the card, you would have been given 60 days before your rate could be raised, but you have been a good customer for 10 years. So you should call the company again and ask for a supervisor and/or write a letter to the person in charge of customer service to ask for a return to your prior interest rate. You should seek out another credit card and try to transfer your balance to another card with a better rate.
